MotoGP, Martin returns: "Saturday was positive, now I have to explore the bike's limits."

Jorge Martin
Brno, July 19, 2025 – So far, a positive and trouble-free return. Results will be discussed later, once the limits of the RS-GP have been understood, which Aprilia has significantly improved in his absence. Jorge Martin is finally back in the race, and he did so in Brno, after a long pit stop due to three serious injuries. There were some bursts of speed for Martin , who at one point in the Sprint had climbed to sixth place, but in this phase of his return to racing, the main thing is to rack up the miles. He had practically not done any, considering the pre-season injury and the crash in Qatar that sidelined him for another long period, all factors that prevented him from defending his title. In short, Jorge Martin can say he's satisfied with this first contact with racing.
The world champion: "I'm trying to get to know the bike."The world champion is pleased with how the Brno weekend is going, which could become his first full weekend of the season. He qualified well, even with a mistake, then ran a competitive Sprint, finishing just over a second off the points. Considering the long break, things are looking good, with eleventh place on Saturday: “I have to focus on my championship, and this was a good Saturday because I felt good,” he said. “Maybe I even made a mistake in qualifying because I wanted to find a slipstream, but I lost it, and so I lost my concentration. Starting twelfth doesn't help.” Martin , however, managed to get a good start and even found himself in sixth place by the end, giving the impression that yes, he can still overtake: “I found myself sixth and tried to accumulate laps to get to know the bike, and that's how I understood where we can improve for the race.” The feeling is good, however, Martin is regaining confidence in racing, and in his absence, the Aprilia has improved significantly thanks to the work of Marco Bezzecchi . There's great potential. "I felt comfortable and tried to manage the soft tire, but maybe it wore out a lot in the end. It's no problem, it's all good because my goal is to understand the limits of the bike. I'm happy," Jorge continued. Martin also performed well physically, having still had some doubts about his body's reaction to the stresses of the prototypes. Here too, everything was fine: "I was a little nervous because I didn't know how my body would react, but in the end it went well and now it's about working on the setup. With a few changes, things could go even better. I can find even more confidence and the goal is to continue improving." The long race, at 2 p.m., will be live on Sky Sport 1 and Sky Sport Moto GP, in search of further confirmation and championship points. Martin wants a second half of the season with strong growth before returning to the championship fight in 2026. Read also - Moto GP Brno, Marc Marquez wins the Sprint despite problems
